Commercial Building - Multi Story Loss

In a commercial setting a top down loss can be devastating to the building owners, management group and of course the tenants. Recently SERVPRO Hyde Park/Central Austin responded to a commercial loss originating on the fifth floor. The water migration path passed through the fourth floor and stopped on the third. We were able to determine the migration path with the use of infrared imaging technology and verify our findings with moisture content readings. Once all the affected areas are properly identified, a drying plan can be put in place. In this instance, SERVPRO Hyde Park/Central Austin placed sixty air movers and fifteen dehumidifiers to begin the drying process. An important note for all parties involved, while the equipment may be a temporary nuisance, it is better than the secondary damage. By leaving the drying equipment running as continuously as possible, it will shorten the duration it must remain on site. More than likely the drying equipment can be removed within three to five days.
