The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Association continues to report and forecast and ever growing number of storms and frequency across not only the country but the globe.  With this new environment comes more flooded homes and buildings and more severe cases.

Rising water causes horrific damage, and occurs extremely fast.  If you can evacuate- you should! Once the water has receded there are some initial steps to mitigate the overall damage.

Rising water is contaminated water; all porous materials it touches should be removed – this includes but is not limited to Carpet, Pad, drywall, insulation, and particle board.  Removing wet material quickly allows non-porous to dry out more readily which helps prevent mold.  Air movement and heavy dehumidification also decrease dry time which is the number one way to prevent mold growth.

Call SERVPRO of Hyde Park / Central Austin to clean, sanitize, and certify your structure dry.
