How To Keep Your Washroom Free Of Mold

3. Invest in a Fan and Use It Correctly
A fan's vent should suck the moisture out of the air before it causes mold to grow. However, you must make sure your fan is strong enough for your bathroom. If you have an 8-foot ceiling, multiply the square footage of the room by 1.1 to determine the ideal cubic feet per minute count for your fan. For 9-foot ceilings, replace 1.1 with 1.5.
Do not just run the fan right after your bath or shower, either. Leave on the fan for at least 30 minutes after your wash. This should stop moisture from harming the ceiling and walls.

4. Wash Your Towels and Rugs
Bathroom towels, mats and rugs are also common locations for mold. Washing those items at least once per week should remove the spores.
